Pure’s Giving Initiative

At Pure, we believe in the power of community—not just within our studio walls, but extending beyond to make a positive impact in the world. Pure’s Giving Initiative is a reflection of our core value of giving back. This initiative allows us to use the transformative power of yoga to support and uplift local nonprofits, causes, and individuals in need.

Through donation-based classes, fundraising events, and collaborations with local organizations, we are committed to making a meaningful difference. Whether we’re hosting wellness events, offering our space to community groups, or creating special partnerships, every effort contributes to our mission of supporting causes that align with our values of compassion, health, and social responsibility.

We invite our community to join us in this mission. By participating in these events, contributing, or simply spreading the word, you help amplify the impact we can make together. Pure’s Giving Initiative is about creating lasting change, one breath, one movement, and one act of kindness at a time.

Together, we can create a ripple of positive change—because at Pure, yoga is more than a practice; it’s a way to give back and make the world a better place.

GIVING INITIATIVES

May – 5th annual Great Big Period Product Drive

ABOUT PERIOD POVERTY
in New Jersey, 1 in 9 women and girls between the ages of 12 and 44 lives below the Federal. Poverty Line — this is more than 200,000 people who struggle to cover basic bills, and have to make hard choices about which essential items they must go without every single month.

  • Period Poverty is a poverty issue. The lack of material basic necessities can force
women to stay home from work or school, depressing their wages as well as micro-economic
productivity. It can also lead to false choices between the products they need to maintain
good health or other necessities such as food, rent and/or utilities.
  • Period Poverty is a public health issue. Individuals experiencing period poverty are
sometimes forced to use proxy items such as toilet paper or unclean rags – even using products
for longer periods of time than recommended which can have serious health implications.
  • Period Poverty is a gender equity issue. The lack of accessibility and affordability of
period supplies can prevent girls and young women from attending school or going to work
which further widens the inequality gap in education and economic empowerment of women
    and girls.
  • In the U.S., two in five (2 in 5) menstruators struggle to purchase period products.
  • One in three (1 in 3) low-income women have reported missing work, school, or similar
commitments due to lack of access to period supplies.
  • Nearly one in four (1 in 4) students in the U.S. struggles to afford period supplies
  • 30 states do not tax period products, including New Jersey

June – The Trevor’s Project

This Pride Month, Pure Toms River Yoga is coming together to support a cause that truly matters. We’re raising awareness and funds for The Trevor Project, helping ensure that LGBTQ+ young people feel seen, supported, and never alone.

At Pure, community is everything. This is our way of extending that sense of belonging beyond our walls — creating space for compassion, connection, and care where it’s needed most.

If you feel called to give, any amount makes a difference. Whether it’s $5 or $500, your support helps provide life-saving crisis intervention and suicide prevention services, and supports The Trevor Project’s mission to end suicide among LGBTQ+ young people.

Together, we can make an impact — one breath, one practice, one act of kindness at a time.
