LOCATION
Cocoon Portugal is a 275 acre coastal farm and retreat center offering inspiration and community on the breathtaking Atlantic coast of Portugal. Just minutes from the simple fishing village of Zambujeira do Mar, in the Alentejo region, which is known for its long stretches of untouched coastline, and charming villages. The Vicentine Coast Natural Park runs about 63 miles down the coast and its landscapes are breathtaking. THE EXPERIENCE
The Farm and Retreat Center is pure magic, where between the oversized hammocks, bikes, and the freshwater lake, you’ll start to lose track of time. This Enchanting location homes chickens, peacocks, goats, sheep, and old-growth pines, where the scent of wild rosemary and lavender fills the air. Pure Wellness Retreats are community oriented, building connections with one self and new friendships! This retreat is the perfect getaway to pull back from daily living, reestablish a regular routine, and decompress. Pure believes yoga retreats shouldn’t be overly structured and flexible – after all yoga is about balance and aligning ourselves in the moment.
The Shalas
The indoor shala is light-filled and has enough windows and doors for the air to circulate freely. The floor is hand-made traditional Portuguese Santa Catarina tiles, which are both beautiful and a joy to practice on.
The outdoor shala has wood floors, and is shaded by a handful of old-growth pines. The outdoor shala has no walls, and is a 3 minute walk from the house.
We will start each morning with a strong flow practices and end the day with gentler practices and meditations with tons of free time to explore
No need to bring props! Cocoon is fully equipped with manduka mats, cork blocks, bolsters, straps, Portuguese blankets and sandbags
The ROOMS
The 11 bedroom, 10 bathroom property is privately reserved for our retreat. Coocon does not have air-conditioning, it doesn’t need it! It stays cool at night, even in the summer months. Each room is equipped with a fan
Accommodations are available in single, double, and triple and currently being offered as followed:
Room 1 and 2 – One King Bed for Couple Package
Room 3 – Triple Room with en suite bathroom
Room 4 – 7 – Double or Single Room with en suite bathroom
Room 9 and 10- Single Room with shared bathroom
Room 11- Double Room with shared bathroom
THE FOOD
The food is local, with most of the produce coming from either the property or a nearby farm. From a sustainability standpoint, Cocoon choose not to serve red meat. They serve eggs from their own chickens, locals cheeses, and occasionally wild-caught Atlantic fish. Three Fresh Farm Meals per Day with options for vegan or gluten free available. Fish will be offered one night.
A typical breakfast includes eggs, local fruit, Greek yogurt, homemade granola, local honey, homemade jam, slow-rise bread. Lunch is often a bowl; a base of ancient grains like farro, topped with avocado, roasted veggies, nori, or mixed greens. For dinner, expect Indian and Japanese curries, Mediterranean stews, legumes, rice, salad and dessert.
Cocoon also has an outdoor, wood-fired Pizza oven. We will definitely be taking advantage of that!
Travel and Arrival
Cocoon is located in the coastal Alentejo region, also known as The Costa Vicentina. This area is protected by a natural reserve, and the nearest town is the charming Vila Nova de Milfontes. From Lisbon, Cocoon is a two-hour drive south, and from Faro, it is slightly closer.
The ocean is just a 10-minute drive away, and you can find some of the most gorgeous secret beaches on the planet, such as Praiado Cavaleiro and Praia Malhão.
Some people like to rent a car to explore the area, but if you prefer to arrive by bus, you can take the Rede Express Bus from Lisbon, and we will pick you up near the Cocoon Bus Station. We will create a shared document where all attendees can put their information to team up together and potentially save on rental and gas costs.

Coming solo but on a budget? Reserve a shared room and we will place you with a roommate. Most of our retreat goers book shared rooms and typically don’t have a “pre-arranged” roommate. We host a Pre-trip meet up so you’ll get the opportunity to make friends in advance if that’s important to you. If we are not able to place you with a roommate, please note you will be upgraded to a single room rate.
Upon Booking a Non- Refundable $500 Deposit must being giving and all terms and conditions will be placed in signed contract prior to booking and payment processing.

Travel Insurance
If you like to purchase travel cancellation insurance to protect your investment in case of unforeseen circumstances that may arise please click here. This can include unexpected illnesses or injuries, natural disasters, or other unexpected events that may prevent you from being able to attend the retreat. Travel cancellation insurance can provide peace of mind and financial protection in these situations, allowing you to receive a refund or credit for your retreat fees. While we do have a policy in place for cancellations and refunds, it is always a good idea to have an additional layer of protection in case the unexpected occurs.
